The management of the band Avenged Sevenfold has announced this sad news on their official website. "It's a very sad and hard to tell that today Jimmy" The Rev "Sullivan has gone.
"It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we tell you of the passing today of Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan. Jimmy was not only one of the world's best drummers, but more importantly he was our best friend and brother. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jimmy's family and we hope that you will respect their privacy during this difficult time.

The Rev aka The Reverend Tholomew Plague aka James (Jimmy) Owen Sullivan (Born 02/10/1981) is the drummer for Avenged Sevenfold. He started playing the drums when he was 10 years old and his first record was releasased when he was 18 years of age.

Jimmy and Brian formed a band called Pinkly Smooth that is currently on hold so they can focus on Avenged Sevenfold full time. In Pinkly Smooth Jimmy's stage name was Rat Head. He sang in the band and played drums. Jimmy was also in another band called Third-Wave Ska band Suburban Legends. He was in the band with the former Avenged Sevenfold bassist Justin Sane.
Jimmy's favorite bands are the Transplants and Rancid. He cites his influences as being Vinnie Paul of Pantera, Dave Lombardo, Paul Bastaph of Slayer, and Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater.
Jimmy is currently engaged and while nothing formal has been released many believe may already be married to Leana "Silver" Mcfadden, girlfriend of multiple years. She is known in the porn world as Teen Topanga. They both have tattoos on their ring finger. Leana has Jimmy and Jimmy has Leana. You can see Leana in the video "Seize the Day" standing beside Jimmy in the funeral scene.

It is with heavy sorrow that we lost Jimmy to natural causes 12/28/2009. Rest in Peace we will love and miss you eternally!

Jimmy joined the percussion ensemble at Harbor College in L.A. in the 6th thru the 8th grade.
Jimmy began transcribing exceedingly difficult metal tunes including Metallica, Slayer, and Pantera eventually learning Dream Theatre and Rush.
Jimmy's parents wanted him to take piano lessons when he was 5 but he resisted them but secretly wanted to play.
Jimmy started out at age 10 with a mail ordered drum kit which he calls crap. A year later he got his own kit.
Jimmy was raised Catholic.

Jimmy has stated that he owns 6 cars. Almost one for every day of the week.
Jimmy wrote the lyrics for Almost Easy, Afterlife and A Little Peice of Heaven. He also came up with the concept for Brompton Cocktail.
